Inspired by trips to Mammoth Caves, Kentucky with my family, the Indiana Bat is one of the many creatures that inhabit the caves.

An inhabitant of the underground rivers of Mammoth Caves. No need for eyes when you live in complete darkness!

54-2. Eyeless Fish (Port D5)

On one trip to Mammoth Caves, I remember a stonefly landing on a woman's head, attracted to her hairspray.

Cave crickets are known for laying their eggs in the sandy floors of the Caves.

I remember seeing these crayfish deep within the Caves. They are almost luminescent in the darkness.

This is based on a painting, "North By Northeast" (#141, Port T1), which I heavily manipulated to achieve this digital picture.

D306. Where, Whither, and Whence (Port D1)

This was a mess, but when I photographed it, the colors became vibrant. I painted over the original, and it became #153, Port T2.

D315. Mistake and Misremember (Port D4)

I saturated a wood panel with paint and pressed the paper into it. The gold in the middle painting created itself as the paint blended.

156. Gold and Blues (Port T7)

I heavily painted the small panel black and left it in the sun to crackle, then used a combination of red and orange to finish it.

This all started with the 5 wood symbols in the lower half. I never intended to cover the entire panel. The cardinal was the final addition.

Random pieces on wood and some great medallions got this painting started. This took a lot of attention to detail!

Alcohol ink sprayed with water and left in the sun created the groovy crackling lines. Finished with acrylic paint.

Alcohol ink creates vivid colors, especially on glass!

149. Excited Utterance (Port T2)

Ice and Fire: My first venture into alcohol ink. I sprayed the glass with isopropyl alcohol before dropping the ink.

My absolute favorite of all the pieces I've done with alcohol ink. The colors are rich and vibrant!

This began as a mess that I planned to throw away, but I didn't want to waste the glass. The mess became a digital image (D315, Port D4).

This is a small painting I did years ago. I updated it by cropping and double framing the painting, giving it a more dramatic look. Port D4

77. Dark Side of the Mountain

REVISED. Once in NYC, I took a photo of a tree in Riverside Park. That tree generated five digital pictures, including this one. Port D5

Painted on a plastic sheet, I didn't know what to expect, but it took the paint well and created an interesting image. Port T2

What appear to be random images may represent something more significant. Port T3

139. A Dialectic of Thought

A tiny triptych on glass taking the viewer on a journey...somewhere. The night is dark, but the bright lights soften the mood. Port T2
